Police use Lathi charge for congressional party workers in Qutbullapur

Hyderabad: Police used today of a subsequent charge to workers of Congress Parties and leaders in the constituency Qutbullapur. The incident took place when the congress party workers led by local MP A.

Revanth Reddy and former MLA K. Srisailam Gold presented a dharna program at the local GHMC office, protesting against the decision of election commission officials to reject the nomination papers of the party candidate of the Gajularamaram division K. Srinivas Gold . Srinivas Gold is the brother of former MLA K. Srisailam Gold.

The party workers allege that the election commission officials joined hands with the ruling party leaders of the TRS and rejected the nomination paper of their party candidate as part of their conspiracy.

The party workers and leaders also tried to raid the GHMC office. This led the police to use the activists. The local SI Manmadha also sustained injuries during the charge.

A woman named Padma also sustained injuries after falling off a DCM van. She was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Police arrested former MLA Srisailam Gold and rushed him to a police station. On the occasion, MP Revanth Reddy claimed that the returning officer had illegally rejected the nomination paper of their party candidate.
