Hyderabad: Heavy rains that plagued the city overnight on Saturday flooded many areas and residents were relocated to temporary emergency camps.
GHMC limits received preliminary average rainfall of 80.5 mm until 4 a.m. Sunday, officials said.
The district administration in Ranga Reddy has appealed to people in low-lying areas and those living in old and dilapidated buildings to be transferred to emergency relief camps.
Education Minister P. Sabitha Indra Reddy said all residents, who are offered food, medicine, drinking water, and so on.

As rainwater flooded several areas, the GHMC Disaster Response Force (DRF) teams are undertaking relief and rescue operations in different areas.
The teams started works in King Koti, Malakpet, Chadrayangutta, Forum Mall, Habsiguda, Nallakunta, Hitec City, Miyapur, Kapra, Tank Bund and Nagole.
Meanwhile, HMWSSB opened six gates of the reservoir after the steady inflow of Himayath Sagar and released the water downstream into the Musi River.
Officials said the reservoir received 13,800 museums by midnight at 12 noon and the current water level in the reservoir is 1763 feet at FTL of 1763.5 feet.
Osman Sagar also receives a steady inflow of 1388 cusecs and the water level is 1783.67 ft at FTL of 1790 ft.
