Hyderabad: Heavy rain hit several parts of Hyderabad on Saturday night.
The downpour was seen in the colonies of Nampally, Abids, Kothi, Basheerbagh, Khairatabad, Goshamahal and Vijayanagar. The rains led to waterlogging in parts of the capital, including the Falaknuma Bridge.
Rescue operations were carried out to relieve the people. In one such operation, the Abdullapurmet police pulled a car out of the overflowing water using a JCB machine in Rachakonda.
Earlier, the Minister of Municipal Administration, KT Rama Rao, ordered officials to distribute the Prime Minister’s emergency relief packages to the residents in the rain-stricken areas across the city.
Rao on Saturday reviewed the progress of emergency relief measures, including drainage and repair activities flooded by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) in the city.
