Brain kills constable’s organs donated in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: An armed reserve police officer, Koneri Anjaneeyulu, who was declared brain dead after encountering an accident in Mannemguda on November 18, gave eight people fresh life after his family decided to donate his organs.

On the way to work, the constable sustained injuries when the motorcycle on which he was riding was hit by a car. Passers-by rushed him to a corporate hospital in Banjara Hills, where doctors declared him brain dead early.

At the request of VC Sajjanar, Cyberabad Police Commissioner, the constable’s family agreed to donate his eyes, heart, kidneys and liver. With the help of ‘Maro Janma’, the Cyberabad police’s organ donation initiative, the organs were handed over to ‘Jeevan Dhaan’. Sajjanar appreciates the constable’s family that they immediately agreed to donate the organs.
